Responsibilities of a Nanny

A professional nanny provides safe, loving, and engaging care while supporting the family's routines and expectations.

🏡 Light Housekeeping

  • Clean up after children and their activities

  • Wash and organize children's laundry

  • Prepare children's meals and snacks

  • Load and unload the dishwasher after preparing meals

  • Keep children's areas neat and organized

⭐ Be a Positive Role Model

Remain focused on the children during working hours. Personal phone use, social media, television, and personal visitors should be limited to appropriate circumstances.

⏰ Be Reliable & On Time

Arrive on time, prepared and ready to begin work. Communicate promptly with parents about delays or schedule changes.

💬 Communicate with Parents

Keep parents informed about their children's day, including meals, activities, behavior, homework, and any concerns.

🛡️ Keep Children Safe

Safety is the top priority. Provide attentive supervision, practice safe driving, use car seats correctly, and maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications.

🎨 Keep Children Engaged

Encourage learning, creativity, and social development through reading, outdoor play, arts and crafts, library visits, playdates, and homework support.

🗓️ Be Flexible

Family schedules may occasionally change. Communicate openly about availability and expectations for additional hours, evenings, or weekends.

❤️ The Professional Nanny

A great nanny is reliable, responsible, communicative, nurturing, and engaged—creating a safe and positive environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

I’ve worked for Jennifer for over 5 years.  She is what all other agencies should mirror.  She treats clients like she is placing nannies in her own home. She also does her homework !!  She builds a relationship with every Nanny that works for her and gets to know us well.  She also stays involved in every piece of the process until both parties feel comfortable moving forward.  She’s amazing!
